We have recently developed a new range of floorboard bespoke finishes: Our luxurious ARTISAN range. There are 5 colours to choose from and each board has been reversed and double wire brushed before sanding and finishing. We aim to have ref pictures online within 2 weeks.
If you have a found a wood floor designer finish that you’re fond of from another wood flooring company, why not give us a try and we’ll directly copy that sample and even aim to further improve the sample depending on your exact requirements. Only this way will you have a truly bespoke floor and not a mass produced product.

220mm Engineered Oak Discount / Rustic / Natural / Distressed
A quick post just to say that we are importing 500m2 of 220mm wide engineered European oak boards next week. We are offering 15% discount on all 220 engineered finishes, that includes driftwoods and our antique ranges up until Feb 2nd only.
These engineered oak boards are 21mm thick and in long lengths up to 2.8m long (average 2m+). The base is made from Boiled tested birch ply which is essential for extra stability in extreme conditions ie with all underfloor heating systems. Our current UK market is flooded with cheap imported engineered boards from China which does not match the spec and quality of these European oak engineered floorboards. Often these sub standard boards are constructed with plywoods that are made of weaker softwood layers, or a mix of hardwood and softwood layers which is no better.
Make sure you inspect the plywood base and the solid oak top layer before purchasing.

Victorian Woodworks R.I.P / Salvaged wood floors / London
It’s a sad time.
As of Jan 12th 2012 Victorian Woodworks in London went into administration. Victorian Woodworks was the UK hub for reclaimed timber flooring, their stock piles were immense and truly varied. Where we have found a new market for reclaimed and replica reclaimed flooring, Victorian Woodworks specifically and adventurously dealt with top grade reclaimed timbers from all over the world. As of this moment we’re unsure of the future ownership of these stockpiles but we are in the loop and will keep our readers up to date.
Old Lodge / New vintage Pre-Finished & natural / Promo until March
You will not find this finish in London or anywhere else because we are the only company in the UK or even the world who has created such a unique finish. Simply, this is because after months and months of experimenting with secret organic mixtures and combinations we have created OLD LODGE. Our bespoke processes are not simply a case of colouring and staining- we would rather quit and work in a bank. Rather, we combine natural compounds that react with the acid within the oak and as a result the oak itself changes colour. Take a close look at the colour variations in the grain patterns of our Old Lodge and you will see that this would be impossible to create with the use of flat staining and coloured oils. We are indeed master craftsmen and very proud of our creations.

It’s true we are not the only company selling antique old grey oak floorboards. However, we are the only company in the Uk selling these stunning pieces with such a depth of colour and richness that will leave any genuine reclaimed oak plank feeling a little envious. It has taken our craftsmen months to create the secret formula that has created all of these subtle grey tones and patina variation and depth.
With this breed of bespoke oak board, you must appreciate that each piece almost creates itself, none of the planks remain uniform. For this reason your completed order will consist of boards as unique as your finger print. We don’t use washes and dyes like other flooring companies because we don’t like to smother the oak, we allow the boards to breath and create personality.

We have a delivery this week coming comprising of long length Rustic grade, Character oak flooring. These boards range from 1m-3m, which is a good 1/2 meter longer than the majority of solid oak flooring that is imported to the UK. We charge £2 extra per M2 for these long length planks. Boards will be sold in a natural, untouched state with no finish or Pre-Finished by ourselves with our specialist floor oils.

Here are a few lovely pictures of wide plank, reclaimed, re-sawn, rustic & antique redwood & yellow pine floorboards. 100m2 of these homely and warm floorboards were a perfect floor feature for this famous artists home on the beach front in Wales. Lots of light, white walls and a rustic pine wood floor represent classic combinations.
Because we are The Reclaimed Flooring Co, we have a constant supply of similar big beams and seasoned timbers flowing through our premises monthly. Fresh Water is our most delicate finish / Design Oak Flooring / Bespoke Oak
Our FRESH WATER range is similar to our Salt Water water in terms of texture and available colours, the difference however is the more subtle use of patina pigmentation. After gently ageing these character oak boards using our very own secret natural and chemical processes, we then Pre-Finish each piece by hand with natural eco-friendly matte floor oils and multi grit sanding. It is a delicate process to create such a gentle finish, a finish that could only be made by hand and not by machines.

Salt Water / Bespoke Oak Flooring / Solid & Engineered Oak Designs
SALT WATER is our latest creative addition to our natural and weather beaten oak flooring range. SALT WATER is similar to LAGOON however the face has been finished with less of a sheen and without the liming effect within the grain. SALT WATER has been gently created to suit open and bright spaces, a perfect canvas for spacious rooms with lots of light and white wall.

Latest finish: Avant-Garde / Wide Engineered Oak / Wide Solid Oak Floors
After labouring in the finishing studio for months and calculating various patina layering processes we stumbled upon our latest design: Avant-Garde. No floor dyes have been used in the colouring of this board, the oak has changed colour naturally, it is this evolving process that has enabled us to create such rich vibrant end colours. We are the only Oak Flooring Company specialists to offer such unique bespoke designs, no other company will be suppling finished boards similar to our Avant-Garde Grande Restoration Floorboards because they simply do not know the formula. These rich, warm tones combine subtle differences between hues of red, brown, purple and orange and together a luxurious almost tropical board finish is born. Band saw marks are optional, we also can tweak the hue towards darker or lighter shades, or use a satin finish if required.

Our Smoked & Oiled oak boards represent some of our cleverly finished yet more economical oak board finishing, these oak boards are available as a solid oak or an engineered oak floorboard for underfloor heating. These oak boards have not only been gently smoked to darken the grain, they have also been treated to bring out the grain contrast, the result is a striking classic oak brown tone suitable for many traditional and modern environments. We have then Pre-Finished with matte oils that do not effect the natural colour of the oak while fully sealing and protecting each board. Available in boards 140mm-300mm wide.

Lagoon
Lagoon presents a more subtle tonal finish when compared to our Grey Driftwoods, Lagoon Grey is a good compliment to our Design oak board stock, along with minimal distressed markings and a softened edge or simply untouched. Our Lagoon Grey represents freshness and open space, suited perhaps more to modern interiors than classic and traditional. We also offer Lagoon Limed for an extra splash of white in the grain.

Our newly hand-crafted SAFARI 12″ wide, antique oak floorboards display many of the features of genuine reclaimed oak flooring and yet they are 100% compatible with all underfloor heating systems. Are skilled finishing craftsmen have created these colour tones using our secret layering chemical formulas and oils to enhance the grain patterns and speed up the natural oak ageing process. (Band saw marking are optional)

Antique SAFARI / Grande Restoration Oak Flooring / UFH Oak Floors
Today we applied our finishing natural matte oils to our latest creation: Antique SAFARI. We’re confident they’re is absolutely no other flooring company in the UK who can offer such a luxurious deep brown oak finish. It has taken months of experimenting to finally create such a deep brown, with warm brown layers to create its authenticity. Using our secret chemical formulas and unique floor oil combinations it takes 11 processes to create our Antique SAFARI finish.
Most suited for our big Grande Restoration Oak flooring, this finish is available as Solid or Strata Engineered Oak flooring for under floor heating, with these Grande boards reaching up to a huge 12″ wide, with or without character bandsaw marks and distressed edges. For smaller spaces our 200mm wide engineered or solid oak boards would be more suitable.

In these few simple images you can see these boards are bold even in their untouched condition. We have only lightly sanded these boards, just enough to bring out the grain and show a few saw marks and display the unique gently undulating surface. Once we get to work on these and after between 10-16 processes these boards will be fit for their new home and ready to be fitted in conjunction with any underfloor heating system.
We have seen similar boards for sale in London for over £110 M2, our boards start at £74 M2 and go up to £89 M2 for June only. From July there will be an extra £5 M2.

Our most popular flooring for Barn Renovations is Yellow Pine, Red Pine & Pitch pine. We tend to see more of our clients going for old oak flooring when the floor space is less than 50m2. ‘We like Reclaimed, distressed, rustic oak flooring but we also like the T&G of new distressed oak, which should I go for?’ This is a common query, both have their advantages. Genuine reclaimed, distressed oak flooring is mainly sold to restoration projects and listed buildings, our new, distressed oak is usually sold to customers with underfloor heating or new builds. The fact is you really cant match a genuine reclaimed oak floor, this is the luxury of having such a floor. However, our range of hand finished, antique oak offers more range and textures. Often it is only the owner of a reclaimed oak floor who can tell the difference between our new, rustic oak and the genuine reclaimed oak floor. So, the main points to consider are: underfloor heating, T&G, flat face timber, warped timber, gaps between boards, foot traffic. All lifted carefully from homes in the North of England, if you look at the grain pattern you can see that these boards are a rare treat in the world of original old floorboards. These are an exceptional purchase, they measure 5.75 inches wide and are up to 4m long, REDUCED TO £21.99 M2, denailed and ready for purchase.
We realise the lack of quality pictures for many of our products may deter you, if this is the case then these boards will pass you by. They’re absolutely stunning and would be sold for over £60 M2 in London or one of the big brand flooring suppliers. We need the space as we’re due to push our new Oak range from June, grab a bargain.

With its natural rustic NYC style interior, this boutique restaurant in Soho was perfectly suited for our antique, matt oiled Regency oak flooring. We also provided the antique steel clout nails for free as a little bonus. We will now be delivering to London 3 times per week including Saturdays. For 2 years now our our scheduled drops have been Thurs & Sat, now we’re pushed to 3 drops due to demand. Almost as tough as oak or any other hardwood, these boards hold their full, antique patina, strong unique grain patterns, & bandsaw markings etc. We can Pre-Finish these for you, Pre-Sand them or sell them naturally rough. Towards the end of 2010 we saw a rapid decline in our stock piles of Reclaimed Hardwood & Softwood Flooring and a confident increase in customer demand. Hardwood oak flooring & especially full character graded floorboards including specialised Pippy & Burr grade has been increasing in demand for the last 10 years. For the last 12 months we have noticed a rapid increase in demand for Reclaimed hardwood & softwood flooring, sometimes we find it hard to keep up! We believe this is due to the cheap imported oak flooring that has flooded the market over the last 2 years from China and Eastern Europe. The trend for laminate flooring has also died off and these floors are now being ripped up and replaced by hopefully, with our help, real wooden, good quality reclaimed flooring. Reclaimed flooring can not be matched when it comes to glorious character and rich patinas. As we all take small steps towards a greener England, our customers appreciate the organic beauty and green credentials of reclaimed flooring, not forgetting the quality.
