These long length barn wood & weather beaten planks were a pleasure to reclaimed and work with, at first glance they require a lot of imagination but after a little crafting TLC and few coats of oil, you can see how rich in texture and authentic these >5m boards are.

After labouring in the finishing studio for months and calculating various patina layering processes we stumbled upon our latest design: Avant-Garde. No floor dyes have been used in the colouring of this board, the oak has changed colour naturally, it is this evolving process  that has enabled us to create such rich vibrant end colours. We are the only Oak Flooring Company specialists to offer such unique bespoke designs, no other company will be suppling finished boards similar to our Avant-Garde Grande Restoration Floorboards because they simply do not know the formula. These rich, warm tones combine subtle differences between hues of red, brown, purple and orange and together a luxurious almost tropical board finish is born. Band saw marks are optional, we also can tweak the hue towards darker or lighter shades, or use a satin finish if required.

Available on solid oak or engineered oak boards, character or prime oak grades.

Diesel Carnaby St London / Reclaimed Pine boards / Used cladding

We provided our very popular salvaged, old pine floorboards for the new shop fit at Diesel Store, Carnaby St, London. They required, rustic yet reliable and strong reclaimed pine flooring over 100 yrs old with a full original Patina. The distressed them required the boards to be gently brushed and cleaned, no more, sanding them down to the pine timber would have defeated the aged, rustic effect.

We were asked to source old hardwood flooring to match the Diesel rustic, flooring themes found in their New York and London stores. We supplied samples of old French carriage oak, Reclaimed pine roof boards, Reclaimed pine mill boards, Reclaimed oak strip flooring, all of which are a strong match for the Diesel theme. This timber was to be supplied to a high street fashion store who were looking at Diesel for inspiration, sadly for us as far as we know they decided to go for natural concrete rather than rustic timber. Here are some great pictures and examples of old, distressed timber flooring to match their distressed Diesel denim range. Awesome.

Our most popular flooring for Barn Renovations is Yellow Pine, Red Pine & Pitch pine. We tend to see more of our clients going for old oak flooring when the floor space is less than 50m2. Old pine is extremely versatile and because it is 100s yrs old and slow grown timber, its much more durable then todays pine. Prices are £23.89 – £31.50 + VAT M2, you’ll find it hard to locate a quality antique timber at these prices. Our stock and grade of pine timber varies from week to week, so please give us a call to see what grades and colour tones we have in stock.

Chilango, London / Weather beaten, distressed pine cladding, floorboards

In associated with brand creators I AM Associates and Mexican restaurant Chilangos, we were asked to provide authentic and believable old pine wall cladding, as if it had bean weather beaten for many years. Easier said than done. After sourcing the right timber, we meticulously sanded each piece by hand with fine papers, painted on 2 layers of white emulsion, then gently sanded again in specific areas. After numerous samples, many meetings and then approval, we then applied 1 coat of transparent compound for legal fire hazard requirements. Chilangos went on to win retail space of the year! Great work guys.

Sputino, Soho / Matte oiled, distressed patina, antique oak floorboards

Old, authentic, antique oak flooring with antique Clout nails, a perfect compliment. Like our Regency antique, oak flooring, the walls at Sputino have the patina of a bygone industrial age; the glazed bricks are chipped and the mosaic roughly repaired. Bare-filament bulbs hang from a ceiling covered in rusting tin tiles, like so many of the once semi-derelict, now-reclaimed nineteenth-century buildings of New York.

Yet this isn’t New York at all, but the middle of Soho. Russell Norman and Richard Beatty – the people behind the nearby Polpo and Polpetto Italian restaurants – have created this wonderful homage to the faux-bohemian diners of New York’s most fashionable districts.

From a bespoke selection of boards with various antique colour tones, light or heavy distressed patterns, brushing, tumbled edges, eventually our ‘Antique Country Oak’ sample was chosen for its modern appeal, character graded oak and it’s gently aged patina. 7-12″ Redwood Yellow pine / Old salvaged timber floors

Rich, reclaimed, slow grown, well seasoned, wide and long, lovely and warm coloured pine flooring.

We are currently milling 500 M2 of extra wide, old floorboards, up to 12 inches wide, up to 16 ft long. These antique and seasoned bulk timbers were reclaimed from a 19th century factory in London. The knots display a deep red tone as do some of the darker grain patterns. The timber face generally shows red and yellow pine characteristics, which is richer in colour than poor quality white pine and lower quality yellow pines. For wood flooring with a warm country ambience this authentic reclaimed pine flooring is a serious contender.

Jimmy’s Farm Restaurant / reclaimed furniture

Reclaimed timbers were used to create this natural setting and it’s pieces for the infamous Jimmy’s Farm Restaurant recently. Work is due for completion over the next few weeks. Paul and his team over at www.trunkreclaimed.co.uk supplied the craftsmenship and we supply Trunk with reclaimed timbers and reclaimed floorboards when they need it.

Reclaimed floorboards used were 5″x1″ redwood, nice and rustic with all the old nail holes included. We always have something similar in stock.

Artists Industrial loft space, Shoreditch, London

For a well established London photographer we were asked to replace badly damaged mixed heart pine and patched oak flooring with a similar economical, heard wearing alternative. Feb this year we reclaimed a one off batch of redwood pine strip flooring from a similar industrial space in the north of England, just the trick. We prepared a sample and within no time at all our reclaimed heart pine strip flooring, was helping to rejuvenate an empty space into a home, an artist’s home. Remember, your wood floor is your room’s canvas, choose it wisely, choose it reclaimed.

At 6500 Sq ft, this is the UK’s largest AVEDA Salon & Spa. 1 Bath House Lane, Leicester. In keeping with the brands international identity, for this salon & spa, 6500 Sq ft of mixed width, reclaimed Colombian pine floorboards where used in their natural state. Once cleaned of potential bacteria and after a good soaking, the boards where then varnished with 4 coats of industrial strength Leyland varnish. Scrapes, paint, nail holes and fine cracks where all part of feature. Recently we have seen more of this rustic style of interior design for shops, bars and restaurants. Unfortunately we were unable to provide for the Jamie Oliver restaurants earlier this year due to time restrictions, they were looking for a similar rustic board to be used as wall cladding.

Waxed floors & floorboards Suburb Coffee Shop LTD

Suburb Coffee shop, Deansgate, Manchester. Voted the best coffee shop in Manchester by Citylife 2006. The Reclaimed Flooring Co supplied over 150 sq meters of distressed, rustic heart pine floor boards cut from 7×3 reclaimed Victorian joists. We worked into the rough side of the joist by hand cleaning, scrubbing and sanding, we then waxed and brushed the boards to finish. The boards were perfect for our clients design ideas and natural theme, a nice backdrop coffee, old leather, artwork and old wooden chairs. Not forgetting the display cabinets, counter and counter top were all constructed from our very own joists, who would have thought?

This project goes to show that quality reclaimed pine floor boards can be used for more than just flooring. We would also like to point out here the reason people like reclaimed floorboards, the reason is simple, the reason is character and originality. Occasionally, worried customers turn their nose up at the cracks, the dents, the marks, the imperfection, we ask these people to looks again. Effective design and reclaimed pine mill boards doesn’t get better than this.

Warehouse renovation, Mcr city centre

Complete overhall of 5 large mill floors

The Reclaimed Flooring Co provides an established Mcr construction company with sufficient reclaimed flooring to cover 5 floors of a 19th century converted cotton mill. We managed to supply over 100 000 linear ft of 100 yr old pine boards. They varied in consistency for each floor, ranging from 5-7 inch wide and 21- 22mm thick. Our clients choice of pine from reclaimed joists was an economical and hard wearing solution to their problem of finding 100 000 ft of sustainable flooring. Our clients have also been congratulated by Mcr city council on their choice of choosing reclaimed timber over new wood or carpet. Infact our eco friendly reclaimed boards may have secured this company with similar large scale projects in the near future.
