Natural Oak for wood purists, here is where you will to see our raw stock, naked. Our mountain character oak, character grade A/B oak, Prime Oak, Character A/B Engineered Oak, 12mm, 16mm, 21mm and our very own 'Castle Grade' of oak complete our current in-house stock.
Our Character European Mountain Oak, is sought after material of the highest quality. Selecting our Oak sources requires lots of research, not only for the location of the product but also for product reliability and a constant supply of the exact same specifications. There are many grey areas when it comes the selling of 'Character Oak' because many clients and so-called wood professionals don't actually know what the term accurately means. We are confident that our range of character oak will never deviate from our strict grading criteria.
There will be shakes, pippy & burr marking and a multitude of knots, this is the natural beauty of European Mountain Oak. Because the oak is slower grown and because this particular oak is taken from the middle of the tree, only from this specific area can we harvest such character rich boards with continued variation, yet not so much that the boards themselves are not stable or strong. If you are looking for a cleaner board with less character, shakes and knots, we suggest that you opt for our Prime grade, by special request only.
