About this project

We were recently commissioned to work alongside London design studio Shed to create the flooring for the interior of the wacky fried chicken restaurant, Absurd Bird in Bath.

The objective was to reflect the quirkiness and fun of the dining experience at this Louisiana-inspired eatery. The dark interior of the floor and walls is the backdrop for the splashes of  Mardi Gras bright colours used in the central bar, which is the focus of the room.

We used 300m2 of deep brown Reclaimed Oak to create a contrast with the bright pinks and turquoises. The fusion of the wooden wall panelling and ceilings works together to create a cosy yet somehow spacious environment.
