About this project
The Gabriela Hearst clothing and accessories store in Mayfair is at the heart of design innovation.
Foster + Partners was commissioned to design a sustainable yet traditional atmosphere for its flag store in London.
To complement the luxurious environment, we supplied 100m2 of our Reclaimed Herringbone English Oak Flooring.
The wood was originally used in an officer’s mess in Shrewsbury. We salvaged and painstakingly cleaned and restored it to create a floor that reflects the luxury of this showroom.
The herringbone shape subtly enhances the textures and light colours selected to furnish the store. No compromise has been made on quality and the final patina of the wood defines the space perfectly.
The definition of this traditional English oak floor blends ideally with the stylish minimalism of the store.
